These cattle grazing by a pond made the ideal subject for a landscape painting that I had in mind. The mother and calf to
the left, the centre white cow, and the standing cow to the right grazing near the waters edge, made the perfect pastoral scene.

As it was spring, the yellow irises in the foreground gave an
extra splash of colour to the painting, while the still water
of the pond reflected the clear blue sky of the day.
