Leslie lives in Norton, a small village near Doncaster. Before becoming a professional artist in the early 1990's, he had worked in the building trade as a joiner, as a mining electrician, and as a BT cable jointer. Les has exhibited work in many leading UK galleries and exhibitions, including with the Royal Institute of oil Painters, and the Royal Society of Marine artists at the Mall Galleries, London.

Now best known for his traditional oil paintings of the British countryside and farm animal paintings, Leslie, with his wife Brenda, also publishes limited edition prints, and has many collectors of his work.
