Leslie spent his childhood on Yorkshire farms, where his father was a cow man. Now living near Doncaster, he has worked in the building trade as a joiner, as a mining electrician, and as a telephone engineer. Painting professionally since the early 1990's, Les has exhibited work in many UK galleries and exhibitions, including with the ROI and RSMA at the Mall Galleries, London.

Now best known for his traditional oil paintings of the British countryside and farm animal paintings, Leslie, with his wife Brenda, also publishes limited edition giclee prints, and has many collectors of the prints and original artwork.
