This painting of a cockerel in a farmyard shows him leading
two hens on an evening patrol of his domain. The young cattle
are just curious enough to take a peep over the fence but soon continue on their way, perhaps to a nearby water trough for
their own evening routine.

This simple theme is what I look out for when I visit a farm to sketch ideas for farm livestock paintings.
