This landscape with poppies was
painted after a walk along
a well worn country path just like the one shown. Climbing
over
an old stile, I could hear a single skylark high
above.
The bright red of the poppy flowers dominated the landscape
before me, while the skylark's song filled the air
with music.
By keeping the brushwork loose and the colours bright,
I tried
to
recreate the feeling of my walk along the narrow
winding
poppy path.
